Genesis Integration is proud to have been awarded COR (Certificate of Recognition) for Safety. COR is awarded to employers who develop health and safety programs that meet established standards. Certificates are issued by Alberta Employment and Immigration and are co-signed by Certifying Partners. These standards include:
Employer policy and management commitment
Worker competency and training
Hazard identification
Hazard control measures
Inspection programs
Incident reporting and investigation
Emergency response planning
Program administration
Genesis provided extensive safety training for all staff, completed a self audit, and then participated in an external peer audit. The audit is very aggressive. A failing mark on any single portion of the audit meant a fail of the complete audit. With some very dedicated work by a number of staff members, Genesis was able to pass the audit on the first attempt.
“This program is aligned with the number one value at Genesis Integration, which is Safety and Wellness,” stated company President, Kelly McCarthy. “It means that we are walking the walk when it comes to safety.”
The Partners in Injury Reduction (PIR) program ran by the Workers Compensation Board recognizes the value of the program by offering discounted rates to those companies that are able to achieve COR. “We continue to improve our work environment and we are lowering our costs. Our customers and our employees are winners through this achievement,” noted McCarthy.
